Day Care Center I TLA Architects

A new inviting and embracing day care facility located in an upscale Rhode Island community. TLA’s design philosophy was to create a building’s architecture that would seamlessly meld within the neighborhood while providing a traditional New England exterior and a scale embracing its users. The site was restricting which generated the building’s maximum footprint to adhere to zoning parking and set back criteria. The plan developed provided for a convenient drop off and pick up area, as well as secure exterior play yards that were planned adjacent to each interior classroom. Each program space was carefully design to allow for present use and potential program expansion. The TLA design team provided the client with a unique and individual expression of neoclassical architecture. The floor plan provided basic construction techniques and the needs that come with creating a space for children and their caregivers. The space needed to be inviting, creative yet practicable. TLA created a building solution that provided scale for the children while embracing the scale of the neighboring community. Material selection was practical
The project was successful and building on schedule and within the client’s budget.
